Intended Use
Tougles is a handheld assistive eating tool designed to help a user manually reposition food within the mouth when tongue mobility is limited or absent. It does not perform or control swallowing.
 
Safe Use
Use Tougles only while awake, alert and able to control the tool safely. Use gently and stop use if the tool causes pain, bleeding, injury or unexpected difficulty. Discontinue use if it is cracked, splintered, damaged or otherwise compromised. People who have difficulty swallowing, have been advised to restrict oral intake, or are uncertain whether eating by mouth is safe should follow the recommendations of their physician or speech-language pathologist. Individual abilities and experiences vary.
 
Cleaning & Care
Wash Tougles thoroughly after each use with hot, soapy water. Rinse well with clean water and allow it to air-dry completely before storing. For occasional additional cleaning, Tougles may be briefly soaked in a solution of white vinegar and water. Rinse thoroughly afterward and allow it to dry completely.
 
Important Care Instructions
Do not place Tougles in the microwave or dishwasher. Do not boil or expose it to prolonged heat or soaking, as this may damage or warp the wood.
